New Terminal of U-Tapao International Airport in Thailand Enable in Aug, 2017

New Terminal of U-Tapao International Airport in Thailand will be put into use in Aug, 2017, invested with 1700 million THB by Thailand government; it will be the important airport hub in the eastern coastal area, with contribution to share the traffic load of Bangkok Suvarnabhumi International Airport and Don Muang Airport, furthermore, to promote the aviation chain development.


Thailand government department invited media to visit the new terminal recently. The U-Tapao International Airport is located in the Sathahip, and 30 km away from the south of Pattaya, and 200 km from Bangkok, so it is also called Pattaya U-Tapao International airport.


After opening of new terminal, U-Tapao international airport will expand the routes significantly, and expected to meet 3 million passengers in 2018. The second runway and maintenance facilities are to be built in the next few years; meanwhile, a few direct flights to Pattaya will be opened after expansion.

 

The “Eastern Economic Corridor” of Thailand attracted the robot, biological industry and other top enterprises to settle in favor of economical development. Therefore, Thailand government takes effort to improve the high-speed road, high-speed rail and other transport infrastructure, integrating with 15 years tax exemption policy.
