It is known that Austrialighting resources is No.1 in the world, the abundant sunshine provides theconvenient condition for solar power development. The data shows, dated toMarch of 2007, Austria has already installed photovoltaic solar equipments withthe supply capability of 5900 megawatt. The solar power can meet the 29% ofelectricity demands in Austria by 2050.

Solar Q, a Solar corporationin Austria plans to invest and build largest solar power station in Austriawith 2 billion Australian dollars, which will meet the 15% of power supplyneeds in southeast of Queensland.

According to the ABC(AustralianBroadcasting Corporation ) reported recently, Solar Q applies to build the power station and battery facilities bystages at 30 km away from northwest of Gympie City. The first stage is expectedto be completed in four years, and supplying 800 megawatt electricity for 315thousand families around 17 Sqm.

As the Scott Armstrong-General manager of Solar Q explained, the completed solar power station andbattery facilities will provide the power supply through sola-cell panel and4000 MWh reserve power simultaneously. Mayor of Gympie introduced, it has everbeen the largest-scale project, and the construction will start at end of thisyear.
