Plans Revealed for Mixed-Use Office Tower in Cape Town

Recently, a famous architect has unveiled proposals for a new mixed-use office tower, situated in Cape Town’s growing Foreshore precinct, which is rapidly emerging as Cape Town’s financial center. The building will provide 13,470 square meters of premium office space and 334 square meters of retail, and will be completed by early 2020.

As one of the first of a cluster of taller buildings envisaged in the presently underdeveloped area, the design of the building not only provides world-class office space, but aims to invigorate this part of the city, both on the street level and within the greater cityscape.

The sculptural building is characterized by dynamic glazed façades that extend seamlessly over the office and parking levels. New retail spaces animate the entire length of the street frontage, which sits on a busy pedestrian route across the city, breathing new life into the area. The wing-like glazing on the street-facing façades soars upwards past the chamfered corners of the building, creating a dynamic addition to the street and skyline.
