The project is located in Karabiga Town along the coastal area of Marmara Sea in the northwest of Turkey, as the crow flies it is located less than 200 km away from Istanbul. Additionally, their construction scale is two sets of Ultra Super-Critical coal-fired power units with the capacity of 660 MW, the project owner is the Turkish company CENAL.

The boilers type is WGZ1864/29.4-1, which is manufactured by ALSTOM’s Wuhan Boiler Factory. However, their steam turbines, which are manufactured by ALSTOM Beizhong Power (Beijing) Co., Ltd, are Ultra Super-Critical condensing steam turbines with four hydraulic pressure cylinders and steam exhaust devices featuring single axle, one intermediate reheat, with a capacity of 660MW. This kind of steam turbine comprises of one high-voltage module for reverse and single current, one medium-voltage module for shunting current and two low-voltage modules for shunting current. Their design can reduce secondary flow and leak losses, promoting the operating efficiency of complete units due to the steam turbines adopting non-adjustment steam exaction with eight grades.
