Canton Tower

Canton Tower, also named as Guangzhou New TV Tower, is China’s highest tower and world’s 2nd highest tower. This tower is located in Haizhu District, Guangzhou City, and 125m to the south bank of Pearl River. This project, with the total building area of 121,788 sqm, started the construction work in November, 2005 and completed in September, 2009. 


Canton tower adopts the structure of reinforced concrete internal core-tube, and steel structural outer frame tube. The core tube is 454m-high, which has 88 floors in total and the height of standardized floor is 5.2m. Besides, the outer frame tube is consisted of 24 inclined columns of steel tube and confined concrete, as well as 46 sets of ring beams and steel inclined support. The antenna mast is 146m-high, and the total height of this tower is 600m. The total steel consumption is about 60,000 tons, including 40,000 tons of outer frame tube. Up to now, Canton Tower, the new landmark of Guangzhou City, has been the highest tower mast building in China, even in the world.
