Shanghai World Financial Center is completed on August 29, 2008, which is located in Lujiazui, Shanghai, near to Shanghai Jinmao Tower. Shanghai World Financial Center is 492m tall with 101 floors, it is the third tallest building in China and the fifth tallest building in the world, while it is also the tallest flat-roof building in the world. 

Shanghai World Financial Center is designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF), a design studio that is known for super high-rise building design. The main structure of building is square cylinder, formed by two giant arched slopes which are narrowed gradually up to intersect. In order to reduce the wind resistance in the original design, the top of building has a giant annular circular tunnel opening, finally, the tunnel opening is changed to inverted trapezoidal by taking the “moongate” of China garden building as the reference. The construction technique and quality of Shanghai World Financial Center have come up to world advanced level; the total weight of structure is about 70,000 tons; the tower top of Fan-type structure is novel, complicate and with high installation requirements.
