Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art & City Gallery is located in the north part of Civic Center, occupying the land of 29,000 sqm and the total building area of this project is 88,000 sqm. The height of this project is about 40 m, including 5 floors above the ground and 2 underground floors, and the total investment is about 1.56 billion RMB. Main steel materials involved in this project is Q345GBJ, Q390GJC and Q390GJ-Z25, while the total steel structure consumption is 18,300 t.

Meanwhile, surface steel structure involved in this project adopts single-layer spatial grid structure system. Cantilever-typed steel truss frame platform also used in this project, in particularly, the largest cantilever is 28 m. The number of controlling joints for surface grid is over 6,000, and rods number reaches to 16,000. For design development part, Tekla Structures and AutoCAD is adopted. CJP welds are used for boxes and beam brackets. To guarantee the welding quality of inside baffles, L-shaped assembly welding is used in the fabrication workshop.
