Culture and Art Center, with the total investment of 2.7 billion RMB, is
located in Fuzhou City. This project occupies 215 acres of land, and its total
building area is about 150,000 sqm (including a basement with 50,000 sqm). The
total steel consumption for this project is about 13,000 t. This Center is
consisted of 5 venues, namely, an opera house with 1,600
seats; a concert hall with 1,000 seats; a multi-functional theater with 700
seats; a cinema center (contains 6 movie halls); an exhibition gallery; and
other commercial and leisure facilities.
The
design of this project shaped as the petals of jasmine blossom, a floral symbol
of Fuzhou City. The outside (steel structure) part of this project known as one
of the most complicated structure for fabrication: 1) construction area of
single-layer shell space frame ranks No.1 in China (with about 30,000 sqm of projection
area), while its span is very large (with 165m in length, and 90m in width). 2)
many components, joints, brackets, intersecting lines, and space frame units
included in this venue project. 3) roof space frames and steel columns form 2 allotype
hyperboloids. Additionally, the façade of all venues cladded with ceramic tiles
and louvers.
